Centerless grinder processing woodworking engraving and milling tool handle defects and machine adjustment methods and steps

When using a centerless grinder to process the handle of a woodworking milling cutter, the commonly used cutting mill is called a press mill, a positioning mill, or a stop mill, but it is called different in different places and by different people. Let's take the domestically produced 1040 centerless grinder as an example. Firstly, adjust the trimming angle of the centerless grinder to 0 degrees, tilt angle to 0.5-0.7 degrees, and displacement to 0 degrees, and then trim the grinding wheel and guide wheel. Afterwards, install the cutting knife holder (bracket). If the cutting knife holder is not available, use a through grinding knife holder, which means open the two material support blocks in front of the knife holder to the brightest position. Select the appropriate cutting plate (pallet) based on the outer diameter of the workpiece. In order to grind the root of the iron cutter handle (commonly known as back chipping), the front end face of the cutter plate should be level with the end face of the grinding wheel and the guide wheel. Later, the machine adjustment method is basically the same as the adjustment of the through grinding, except that the material supporting block (splint) does not need to be adjusted. After determining the spatial position of the knife, lock the handwheel rocker arm or guide wheel frame transverse feed plate rod on the right side of the centerless grinder. Afterwards, you can start the machine for trial grinding. The method of adjusting the water level angle is the same as adjusting the through grinding, and the feed is basically the same as adjusting the through grinding. For novice practice, it is recommended to first learn how to grind tool handles with a diameter of 60cm or more, because at the beginning, the guide wheel frame's transverse feed plate rod must be raised very high, so the gap between the tool plate and the grinding wheel will be wide. A workpiece with a diameter of 60cmn can prevent danger from being placed through that gap. When feeding, the workpiece should be placed as close to the guide wheel as possible. When operating the cutting mill, one should concentrate, keep their hands steady, and not be distracted, especially when grinding small workpieces, as there is a certain degree of danger involved. So it is strongly recommended that friends who have not operated the cutting mill before should see how your masters operate it, and then learn it slowly by themselves. Safety comes first

Take the 12 type centerless grinder from Taiwan as an example!
